best tip you'll ever hear for collecting is, buy the individual cards as they are much cheaper!! instead of buying a huge box with no guarantee of getting good cards if u but the card you want from online directly it will be much easier faster and cheaper for your collection

I usually buy all my chase cards now, because my luck is so horrible, but my son was bagging me to open something so I picked him up a scarlet mascaraed ETB not thinking he would pull anything and luck would have it, he pulled the eevee alt art. That’s a big win in my book. Also to add icing on the cake, I was able to get the ETB discounted and saved $10 with a coupon. lol

I don't collect and just buy cards for the fun of it and to play with my kid. We don't care if we get rare stuff, we just want more cards to build fun decks with. We also don't usually use the overpowered cards, so getting 100 more common cards to build more decks for only $10 bucks is pretty good for us. In contrast, I spent full price for what was essentially 15 booster packs and some promo cards (a tin and elite trainer box) and we pulled 2 cards out of those that were only a few bucks, the rest was just common stuff like in these bundles 😅

That Charizard pull was definitely out of nowhere! Congrats! You know that you've purchased from an honest seller when loose packs haven't been weighed. I was actually lucky enough to pull it twice along with the bubble Mew! I just need 2 more cards and I'll be officially done with PF!

I started collecting this month. I didn't even realize that I needed to hear this! Setting a goal is a great one to end on, because after the initial rush of getting a few trainer boxes to start out, now I have to cool off and figure out my next goal. I think I'm going to build a deck around some of my favorite Pokemon, and collect the cards I need to do it! And that's how I'll proceed in my collection: deck by deck :D

Congrats on the wedding Jake!! Have you considered including (at least a little) Japanese market update as well? Or mention how the japanese counterpart of these cards is performing in comparison? For example both Magikarp and Eevee and soaring in English but they're still affordable in japanese. Just an idea!

Quite a bit above average. I feel like you got a good one because you knew what to look for in order to have a decent experience, but we can't expect all pokémon collectors to be knowledgeable, my advice would still be avoid everything no matter what if it has "mystery" in the title xV
